Fostering a culture of individual growth and collaboration
Recognizing the need for more impactful engagement within the studio, I took the initiative to transform the previously held “Office Hour,” which had struggled to gain traction, into a vibrant weekly virtual session called “Design Crit.” This one-hour standing meeting provided a dedicated space for team members to give and receive constructive critique on their work, including client deliverables, internal initiatives, and personal projects.
The introduction of Design Crit fostered a culture of individual growth and collaboration, encouraging open dialogue and feedback among team members. As a result, the team scaled up significantly from my and my scribbled to 7 core members owning and running the sessions, leading to increased social interactions and stronger connections within the studio. This initiative not only allowed me to showcase my leadership skills but also positioned me as a catalyst for change, empowering others to engage more actively in their professional development. Through Design Crit, we cultivated an environment where creativity thrives, and individuals feel supported in their growth journeys.
