Why the Wise Choice?
The white paper walks one through our entire thought process, of creating a platform that will help build a community of people that are knowledgeable about parent-child relationships. It is targeted towards parents and guardians in New York City who wish to talk to their teenagers about sexual and reproductive health issues but do not know how to approach the topic. The network will elevate the overall quality of interactions and eventually result in bridging the communication gap between the youth and their guardians.
This service design project is about introducing the value of a Design Thinking approach in a non-profit organization in order to learn, reflect and project better decision making choices. While maintaining the power of collaboration and connectedness among its spectrum of users in the forefront. It also helps allocate resources strategically in order to create better business and social opportunities, and the formation of a more consistent stream of value creation.
Discovery
During the discovery process and the research phase we were looking at all the primary and secondary stakeholders for the non-profit organization. We decided to analyse the youth and the parents, and conducted interviews with both user groups. We also held a co-creation workshop with the non-profit organization that centered towards brainstorming ideas for the project and in turn hitting ideas off of each other.
